Traffic and Access
All vehicle access to the new homes will come from a new entrance off Foxwell Drive.
Below, you can see a diagram illustrating the proposed access road.

There will be no vehicle access to the proposed new homes through Stoke Place, for residents or for construction related traffic. The vehicle access off Foxwell Drive will be to the south of the Tiny Forest, broadly in line with the ‘No Horse Riding’ sign. The access point will
not affect the Tiny Forest, which will be retained and, if possible, enhanced. Care has been taken to route the access to minimise the loss of existing trees, although some trees will have to be removed.
There will also be pedestrian and cycle access from Stoke Place, as well as a link into the path that runs along the A40. To facilitate pedestrian and cycle access, we are proposing that Stoke Place be resurfaced along the length of the bridleway, as well as the addition of street lighting. This will allow cyclists and those with limited mobility to access the homes from Stoke Place.
The Public Right of Way along Stoke Place will feed into the new foot and cycle paths that we are proposing between the new homes, to ensure connectivity between our proposal and local amenities. The paths will also provide access to the public open space for both new and existing residents. The new homes will be an approximately 15 minute cycle from Oxford City Centre, and an approximately 15 minute walk from the centre of Headington (as defined by the emerging Local Plan), ensuring sustainable and convenient access to a range of local amenities.
There are two bus stops within a short walk of the site, along Foxwell Drive. These are ‘Steep Rise Bottom’ and ‘Dunstan Park’, both of which are served by the X3 route, providing connections to Barton Park, Abingdon and Oxford City Centre.
Below, you can see an image showcasing approximately where it will enter from ground-level on Foxwell Drive.
